Summer flowers are unapologetically joyful

After months of softer palettes and muted tones (which we absolutely love, don’t get us wrong) when summer arrives full on with color that feels sun-warmed, expressive and alive, we are all in. Think vibrant corals and purples, sunset oranges, blushing fuchsias, lavenders, peaches and every seemingly every shade of green.
There is something about summer color that feels almost nostalgic. It brings to mind farmer’s market bouquets wrapped in kraft paper, striped umbrellas, linen dresses, garden dinners that stretch late into the evening and kitchens filled with flowers simply because they should be. Summer blooms have a way of making everyday moments feel celebratory without trying too hard. They feel abundant, relaxed and entirely unpretentious, like the floral equivalent of an open window and a chilled glass of rosé.
It’s also the season when florals become a little less polished and a little more playful in the best possible way. Anemones open wider. Delphinium dance instead of standing still. Garden roses bring bold pops of color while delicate spray roses soften arrangements with movement pops of texture. And again, the palette itself begins to mirror the feeling of summer entertaining: relaxed tables, longer evenings surrounded by warm breezes and homes filled with fresh flowers almost by instinct.
What makes summer blooms feel so special is their balance of abundance and ease. This season, we are especially drawn to combinations that feel both nostalgic and elevated:
-
Hot pinks paired with softer pinks and leafy greenery
-
Peach and orange tones mixed with raspberry pinks
-
Lavender layered against creamy whites
-
Bright greenery softened by delicate neutral blooms
Summer flowers remind us that beauty does not always have to be restrained. Sometimes it can simply feel happy. And perhaps that is the luxury of summer arranging — flowers that bring energy, warmth and a sense of effortless abundance into everyday life.
